The Maine Lighthouse Museum in Rockland is hosting a two-day art festival on August 15 & 16, 2008, featuring the talented works of many local Midcoast Maine artists, which will be on exhibit for public preview and auction.
The event, which will benefit the Maine Lighthouse Museum, founded by the late Ken Black “Mr. Lighthouse,” and home to the nation’s most significant collection of classical Fresnel lenses, will offer a variety of artistic items, including artwork, woodworking and jewelry.
Friday, August 15th will feature a preview of all the items in the art festival auction from 5 to 8 pm, with wine and cheese served.
The highlight of the event will be a silent auction, as well as a live auction of the artwork on Saturday, August 16th from 5 to 8 pm, with Champagne and hors d ‘oeuvres served.
The Maine Lighthouse Museum, located at One Park Drive in Rockland, has a mission to educate the public regarding the longstanding traditions, heroism and progress of America’s Lighthouse and Lifesaving services and the United States Coast Guard.
